FILL CITY HALL! SHOW CITY COUNCIL THAT SEATTLE DEMANDS AFFORDABLE HOUSING NOW!
The Ethiopian Community Center (ECS) is forging the path for community-led affordable housing in Seattle. With our Affordable Housing Plan we are telling the city of Seattle that we will do whatever it takes to fight gentrification and build secure and stable housing for our communities.
We have the plans, the building partners and the land to build 112 units in Rainer Beach. Our building plan will make sure elders are housed and long-time residents of Seattle are no longer pushed out of the city. So why isn’t this project underway?
We know for a fact that the money is here, so on May 3rd Kshama Sawant will be bringing a budget amendment proposal to the City Council include this project in the Supplementary Budget. The only way city council will sign off on this is if we show them how hard Seattle will fight for affordable housing so let’s show up and pack the house!
